Visigoth

Visigoth’s first music video drew on the band’s friends and local metal community. Jake Rogers told SLUG that friends supplied much of the medieval weaponry, armor and costumes; Eternal Champion’s Jason Tarpey flew out to appear, while brewer Jason Stock and Turned to Stone’s Paul Black also joined the cast. The band credited David Brodsky and Allison Woest as crucial to realizing the ambitious eight-minute film.

In a later interview, Jake Rogers said he storyboarded a condensed version of the song’s narrative, with Jason Tarpey playing the king. The crown was a plastic one the band already owned, and grocery-store beet juice supplied the blood. Rogers and Jamison Palmer also remembered the shoot as freezing cold, especially for Tarpey in chain mail.

“Dave Brodsky is one of the best directors in the business!”
