Allison Woest is a producer, camera operator, editor and partner at My Good Eye.

Before working in production, Woest played guitar in a number of bands. Music is also how she and David Brodsky first met.

She later came onto a My Good Eye shoot, looked around at the work being done and famously said, “I can do this.” She did, and has been doing it ever since.

As a camera operator, Woest has an unusually sharp instinct for fast movement. She can track sudden, high-speed performance action with the precision of a sports videographer on speed, catching the exact moment a body, instrument or gesture resolves into the frame instead of merely chasing it.

That timing carries directly into the edit. Her performance editing is brutally precise, especially when it comes to sync. Brodsky has described showing her a supposedly finished cut only to have her immediately find a shot that is off by a frame one way or the other. Her eye for sync is good enough to make other editors, including Brodsky, slightly embarrassed about what they thought was finished.

Her production work is equally hands-on: budgets, schedules, crews, locations, logistics, clients, gear, paperwork and the constant problem-solving required to keep complicated shoots moving.

That combination of production management, camera work and editorial precision has made her a central part of My Good Eye's work across music videos, commercial productions, documentaries, live events and other visual work.
